Fernando Luiz Roza professionally known as Fernandinho is a Brazilian professional football player who plays for Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A club Athletico Paranaense as a midfielder. He started his career at Brazilian club Athletico Paranaense before moving to Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk in July 2005 for a fee of around £7 million. At Shakhtar Donetsk, he became one of the best foreign players to ever play in the Ukrainian Premier League and went on to play eight seasons for the club where he made 281 appearances and scored 52 goals for the club in all the competitions. With Shakhtar, he won six Ukrainian Premier League titles (in 2005-06, 2007-08, 2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12, and 2012-13), four Ukrainian Cups (in 2007-08, 2010-11, 2011-12, and 2012-13), two Ukrainian Super Cup (in 2008 and 2012) and one UEFA Cup (in 2008-09). After playing eight seasons at Shakhtar Donetsk, on 6 June 2013, he signed for Premier League club Manchester City on a four-year contract deal for a fee of £34 million and went on to play nine seasons for the club. During his Manchester City career, he made 383 appearances and scored 26 goals for the club in all the competitions as he went on to win five Premier League titles (in 2013-14, 2017-18, 2018-19, 2020-21, and 2021-22), six EFL Cups (in 2013-14, 2015-16, 2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20, and 2020-21), one FA Cup (in 2018-19), and FA Community Shield (in 2018) with the club. Currently, on 28 June 2022, he signed for Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A club Athletico Paranaense on a free transfer. 


On the international level, Fernandinho has represented Brazil at various age levels. He has represented Brazil at U23 and the senior level. He was part of the Brazil U23 team that won the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship. He made his senior international team debut for Brazil on 10 August 2011. He was part of the Brazil squad which came fourth at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and also competed at the 2015 Copa America, the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and the 2019 Copa America, winning the latter tournament.
