Nicola Adams famous as "Queen Of The Ring" is a British former professional boxer. She began boxing at the age of 13, becoming Britain's amateur champion by 2003, and kept the title in three championships. Nicola Adams is famous for being a former professional boxer and for representing Haringey Police Community Club at boxing. Nicola Adams was born as Nicola Virginia Adams on 26th October 1982 in Leeds, Yorkshire, the UK. She was born to her parents; Innocent Adams (father) and Denver Adams (mother). By occupation, her father is a plasterer and her mother is a hairdresser as well as a restaurant manager. When Nicola was at the age of 11, her parents separated. Her mother, Denver, suffered from contracted meningitis however, Nicola quickly called an ambulance and saved her mother's life.   • Nicola Admas herself confirmed that she had turned professional having signed with promoter Frank Warren on 23rd January 2017. On 8th April, she made her debut against Virginia Carcamo at the Manchester Arena scoring a four-round points decision victory. 
  • She faced former world champion, Isabel Millan, for the WBO interim female flyweight title on 6th October 2018 at the Morningside Arena in Leicester where she defeated via ten-round unanimous decision to capture the WBO interim title.
  • After the victory, she was scheduled to challenge for the full world title on 8th March 2019 against reigning WBO female flyweight champion Arely Mucino at the Royal Albert Hall in London. But the fight was postponed due to the injury of Adams. She had been elevated from interim to full WBO champion in July 2019 due to Mucino being unable to "participate in the active competition" due to an ankle injury in a car crash. 
  • Her first defense title came facing against former world title challenger Maria Salinas. The bout took place on 27 September 2019 at the Royal Albert Hall and was aired live on BT Sport in the UK and ESPN+ in the US.

Retirement of Nicola Adams

During the first round of her fight with Salinas, she suffered a torn pupil. Firstly, she thought it was a minor injury. In an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live Adams said, "I didn't think it would be anything too serious but I had torn the pupil in my eye. I got the injury in the first round of my last fight [against Maria Salinas]. I phoned the doctors a couple of days afterward. I could take the chance and keep boxing and hope nothing would happen to my eye or an unlucky punch could mean I lose my sight." 

On 6th November 2019, she announced her retirement in an open letter in the Yorkshire Evening Post, saying, "I’m immensely honored to have represented our country-to win double Olympic gold medals and then the WBO championship belt is a dream come true… But it's not without taking its toll on my body, and aside from the expected aches and pains - I've been advised that any further impact to my eye would most likely lead to irreparable damage and permanent vision loss."

The couple perhaps bonded at a restaurant, where Adams suffered from an allergic reaction to the nutty sauce on her nachos and thus had to take her to the emergency ward.
