Alexandra Rose "Alix" Klineman, professionally known as Alix Klineman is a talented American beach volleyball and former indoor volleyball player. She is famous for being the USA junior National Women's Volleyball Team, and the United States women's national volleyball team. She wins a gold medal at the 2004 North, Central American, and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation Girls' Youth Continental Championship as well as she wins a gold medal at the 2006 Women's Junior Continental Championship and also won a bronze medal with the US in volleyball at the 2011 Pan American Games.
As of Indoor volleyball player, Alix Klineman was part of Mira Costa High School. She was the 2004, 2006 California State Championship most valuable player, PrepVolleyball.com 2004 Sophomore player of the year, 2006 Senior player of the Year, and three-time PrepVolleyball.com High School All-American. She was named the 2006 Gatorade National Player of the Year, and 2005, 2006 California Gatorade State Player of the Year for Volleyball. Then, she was played at Standford University where she was a four-time All-American. She was the 2010 Volleyball Magazine Player of the year and ranked in the US with 5.55 kills per set, 6.25 points per set in 2010. She was named AVCA National Freshman of the Year. In 2011 to 2015, she played for Volley Pesaro, Gruppo, Sportivo Oratorio Villa Cortese, & AGIL Volley Novara.
Additionally, Alix Klineman became a partner with April Ross towards the end of 2017. She was named part of the 2018 Association of Volleyball Professionals Team of the Year (along with April Ross), and individually honored with the Best Blocker. Together, they won the FIVB Dela Beach Open in January 2018, the FIVB Itapema Open mid-May in 2019, the Huntington Beach in 2019, and the Austin Open, the Manhattan Beam Open, the Championships, the Hawaii Invitational as well as they won their second FIVB tournament event, the Yangzhou Open in October 2018, Most Improved Player awards at the AVP Award Banquet that November, and also won the silver medal at the 2019 Beach Volleyball World Championship. In 2020, they won the AVP Monster Hydro Cup & the Wilson Cup, and the AVP Championship Cup in August 2020.
In 2021, she represented the USA at the Tokyo Olympics again alongside April Ross where they are wins away from their first Olympic gold medal. They took and won a tight battle against Germany's 18th-seeded Maggie Kozuch and reigning Olympic gold medalist, Laura Ludwig, in the quarterfinals on Monday night 2 August 2021. The Americans defeated the Germans in straight sets, 21-19, 21-19, to advance to the semifinals. They will face Switzerland's Joana Heidrich and Anouk Verge-Depre in the semifinals on 5 August ET for a spot in the gold medal match.
