Early Life of Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes was born on 30th June 1985 with the real name/birth name of Cody Garrett Runnels. His birthplace/hometown is in Marietta, Georgia, USA. He holds an American nationality and his ethnicity is White. He was born to his parents/family; wrestling legend, Dusty Rhodes, and his second wife, Michelle Rubio. He comes from a wrestling family as he is a half-brother to Goldust and two other sisters, Teil Gergel and Kristin Ditto who were the Cheerleaders of National Football League team, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. His godfather is Magnum T.A. His uncle's name is Fred Ottman and Jerry Sags. Currently, Cody is living in Lutz, Florida and he is also titled with WWE wrestler Gold rust. Professional Career of Cody Rhodes

  • While he was in high school, he placed sixth in the 171 lb (78 kg) division as a sophomore and as a junior, he won the Georgia state tournament at 189 lb (86 kg) in 2003 and repeated as champion his senior year.
  • After that, he had planned to wrestle collegiately at Pennsylvania State University but decided to become a professional wrestler instead.
  • He credits his father Dusty Rhodes for starting his wrestling training when Cody was only 12 years old. 
  • And from there, his training was provided by Al Snow, Danny Davis, Randy Orton, and Ricky Morton.
  • He began wrestling in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) in May 2006 and played his debut match against Pat Buck on 13th May. 
  • After that, he formed a tag team with Shawn Spears in mid-August 2006 and they quickly became embroiled in a feud with The Untouchables over the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship and captured the championship from The Untouchables on October 18.
  • Runnels and Spears became involved in a scripted rivalry with each other after Spears became jealous of Runnels' success as a singles wrestler.

  • On the 7th January 2013, Raw, Team Rhodes Scholars defeated Team Hell No in a non-title match to earn another shot at the WWE Tag Team Championship.
  • On June 16 Raw, he debuted a new character called Stardust (a ring name also previously used by his father during his time in American Wrestling Association), with face paint, a bodysuit, and mannerisms similar to those of Goldust.
  • Later, the Stardust character eventually evolved to resemble a comic book supervillain, which led to him entering a storyline rivalry with actor Stephen Amell.
