Duane Lee Chapman better known as Dog the Bounty Hunter or simply Dog, is an American reality TV star, bounty hunter, and a former bail bondsman. Chapman achieved international notoriety as a bounty hunter for his successful capture of Max Factor heir Andrew Luster in Mexico in 2003 and the following year, was given his own series, Dog the Bounty Hunter (2004–2012), on A&E. After Dog the Bounty Hunter ended, Chapman appeared in similarly-formatted TV show alongside his late wife and business partner, Beth Chapman, in Dog and Beth: On the Hunt (2013–2015), on CMT. His upcoming series, Dog's Most Wanted, will premiere on WGN America in 2020.

Duane "Dog The Bounty Hunter" Chapman is not looking to remarry after losing his wife of nearly 13 years, Beth Chapman, to cancer last month. In an Instagram story Q&A session this week, the couple's youngest daughter, Bonnie Chapman, spoke out about her mother's passing, which followed a two-year battle with throat cancer. When one fan wondered if Duane would "someday remarry," Bonnie was quick to shut down the possibility of that ever happening, claiming their relationship was "one of a kind."Nope, he found his soulmate," she told the fan. "No one can replace her in his heart. Their love was one of a kind, it made me believe love truly exists."
Another fan questioned Bonnie on how she was coping after the loss of her mother, to which she responded, "Just remembering that cancer can no longer hurt her. She’s no longer in pain and finally feels normal again. I do miss her like crazy."

Duane Chapman was born on February 2 , 1953 in Denver, Colorado , the son of Wesley Duane Chapman(1930-2000), a bail bondsman with Aaron Bail Bonds who served aboard the USS Irwin during the Korean War, and Barbara Darlene Chapman (nee Cowell; 1934–1994), an Assemblies of God minister. He has three siblings, Jolene Kaye Martinez (nee Chapman; 1955–2016), Michael Chapman, and Paula Hammond (nee Chapman). He is German on his mother's side and English on his father's side.
At 16, Chapman joined Devils Diciples, an outlaw motorcycle club, and ran away from home. In 1976, Chapman was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to five years in a Texas prison. Chapman served 18 months at Texas State Penitentiary in Huntsville, Texas. While he was in prison, his first wife LaFonda divorced him and married his best friend.
