  • He won a gold medal in the super-heavyweight at AIBA Youth World Boxing Championship in 2010. 
  • He became a runner up in Croatian Senior Boxing Championship in 2010. 
  • He then went on to become a Croatian Senior Boxing Champion for 6 consecutive years in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. 
  • As a member of the Paris United Team, he won WSB Season I. 
  • As a member of the Astana Arlans team, he won WSB Season III and V. 
  • He compiled a record of 26-4. 
  • He was the man credited for the cancellation of the David Haye vs Tyson Fury fight in 2013. He had cut Haye in a sparring session. 
  • AIBA named Hrgovic March Boxer of the Month in 2015. 
  • Hrgovic won the bronze medal in the men's super heavyweight category at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Tony Yoka of France narrowly defeated Hrgovic in the semi-finals.

  • Hrgovic turned professional in September 2017. 
  • He defeated Raphael Zumbano of Brazil in his professional debut. 
  • He then signed a deal with Sauerland Promotions. 
  • He was shortlisted for The Ring magazine Prospect of the Year award after compiling a 5-0 record in 2018. 
  • He fought in his native Zagreb for the first time in September 2018 where he defeated veteran heavyweight Amir Mansour. With the victory over Mansour, he won the vacant WBC International heavyweight title.
