Joe Maddon is an American former professional baseball manager whose coaching career in MLB began with the Angels in 1994. Since then, he has managed the Tampa Bay Rays, and Chicago Cubs of Major League Baseball. He has served under managers Buck Rodgers, Marcel Lachemann, John McNamara, Terry Collins, and Mike Scioscia. He managed the Rays from 2006 through 2014, winning the 2008 American League pennant. In 2016, he managed the Cubs to their first World Series title since 1908. On 7th June 2022, as the team, Angels reached a 12-game losing streak, Maddon was fired by the Angels.

Joe Madden was born on 8th January 1954 in West Hazleton, Pennsylvania with the birth name of Joseph John Maddon. He is the son of an Italian father, Joseph Anthony Maddon (who shortened the family name from Maddonini), and a Polish mother, Albina Klocek. He grew up in an apartment over his father's plumbing shop. His father died in 2002. He has two siblings; Carmine and Mark.
