Malpass joined 6ABC in January 1988 as a reporter and anchor and has co-anchored the 5 p.m. newscast since 2003. She also hosted the Sunday morning political roundtable program Inside Story.  No replacement was announced for Malpass at 5 p.m. A 6ABC spokesman said for the foreseeable future, the station will rotate anchors during that slot and was in "no rush" to anoint a replacement.
