Born as one of the daughters to her parents; Sharon Morrison(mother) and Clarence Edwards(father), Shania was raised alongside her sisters; Jill and Carrie Ann with her mother after her parents got divorced when she was just 2 years old. Her mother soon got married to Jerry Twain who adopted her and her sisters, however, her stepfather was abusive towards her mother.
Her childhood wasn't very peaceful and luxurious as her family struggled with financial problems that even food was often scarce in their household.
