He made his debut for the Nepalese cricket team against the Netherlands in April 2021.

Aasif is a right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper.

He currently plays for the Armed Police Force Club in Nepal's domestic cricket and Pokhara Paltan in the Pokhara Premier League.

He started playing cricket at a young age and was selected to represent Nepal at the Under-19 level.

In March 2023, Sheikh scored his first century in ODIs during a match against Papua New Guinea.
