  • It was later revealed that his leg became infected due to post-surgery complications, with him having multiple procedures to remove infected tissue.
  • He also had an external fixation device installed on his leg to assist healing, which he wore for eight months.
  • He missed the entire 2019 season as a result, with him being on the team's physically unable to perform reserve list.
  • He later stated that his leg was nearly amputated due to the infection, adding that he was lucky to be alive. 
  • He also affirmed his intent to continue playing football.
