  • Bernd Leno joined the SV Germania Bietigheim academy in 1998. 
  • In 2003, he joined the youth system of the German club, VfB Stuttgart. 
  • After spending 6 years with the club's youth team, he made his professional debut for the club's reserve team, VfB Stuttgart II in 2009. The club competed in the third division, 3. Liga.
