Chance Comanche is a former American professional basketball player. He is famous for his playing position as a power forward/center. Starting his basketball career with Arizona Wildcats in college, he has played for Memphis Hustle, Canton Charge, Enid Outlaws, Stockton Kings, Portland Trail Blazers, and Sacramento Kings. However, his career took a dark turn when he was released by the Stockton Kings of the NBA G League on December 15, 2023, following his FBI arrest in California on kidnapping charges related to the disappearance of 23-year-old Marayna Rodgers, reported missing in Las Vegas on December 7. Comanche's ex-girlfriend, 19-year-old Sakari Harden, was also arrested on related charges.

  • In 2021, Comanche joined the Enid Outlaws of The Basketball League and had a standout performance on April 19 where he scored 43 points in a 152–78 victory against the Lewisville Leopards.

Ankara DSİ S.K.

  • Comance then signed with Ankara DSİ S.K. (Yeni Mamak Spor) of the Turkish Basketball First League on June 24, 2021. 
  • By December 21, he had earned the title of the league player of the week, showcasing a stellar performance with 24 points and 16 rebounds in a triumph against Bornova Belediyespor. 

Stockton Kings

  • On November 3, 2022, Comanche secured a spot on the opening night roster for the Stockton Kings.

Portland Trail Blazers

  • On April 9, 2023, Comanche officially joined the Portland Trail Blazers. 
  • Making his NBA debut on the same day, he played in a 157–101 loss to the Golden State Warriors. 

Return to Stockton

  • On October 2, 2023, he signed with the Sacramento Kings but faced a waiver on October 12.

Chance admitted strangling a woman in Las Vegas along with his former girlfriend who he says helped him devise the murder plot. Chance and Sakari will be charged with murder and kidnapping in the killing of 23-year-old Marayna Rodgers, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police announced on 17th December 2023. 

Marayna Rodgers, reported missing on December 7, was later discovered deceased in the Las Vegas suburb of Henderson. Harnden was apprehended on Wednesday in Las Vegas and is currently held on a $500,000 bond. Comanche was taken into custody on Friday by the FBI in Sacramento, California, and is being detained without bond. Pending extradition to Nevada, he is scheduled to appear in a Sacramento court on Tuesday, according to law enforcement.

According to NBC News, a dispute between Comanche's girlfriend, Sakari Harnden, and Maryana Rodgers, both sex workers, revolved around a Rolex watch. Allegedly, Rodgers threatened harm if the watch wasn't given to her. On December 6, Comanche devised a plan to deceive them into a compromising situation. Tying their hands behind their backs, he posed as a customer. Subsequently, Comanche and Harnden allegedly strangled Rodgers with an HDMI cord in a vehicle. Despite stopping when she struggled to breathe, Harnden continued choking her. After Rodgers' death, they disposed of her body in a roadside ditch, covering it with rocks. Comanche admitted they initially considered hiring someone to kill Rodgers but ultimately carried out the murder themselves.
