About Chris Tarrant

An English radio and television broadcaster, Chris Tarrant presented the ITV children's television show "Tiswas" from 1974 to 1981, and the game show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" from 1998 to 2014 from where he received mainstream recognition as the original host of the popular UK game show. His career began in 1964, when he was hired by the since-dissolved television network ATV. Tarrant worked as a schoolteacher and also briefly as a film director for the Central Office of Information before joining ATV as a newsreader on "ATV Today". He represented the school at hockey and cricket and gained A, B, and D grades at A-level in English, history, and ancient history. He received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Television Awards in 2000 as well as was a Capital Radio host from 1984 to 2004. As well, he received an OBE in 2004 for his charity work, in particular his campaigning on behalf of disadvantaged children.

Early Life of Chris Tarrant

Chris Tarrant opened his eyes for the first time on 10th October 1946 with the real name or full name of Christopher Goose Tarrant in Reading, Berkshire, England (hometown /birthplace). He holds a British nationality and British-white ethnicity. Analogously, he is from Christianity religion and his race is white. He happily celebrates his birthday on the 10th October of every year and he had celebrated his 74th birthday as of 2020 though as his birthdate, his star sign is Libra.  His father Basil Tarrant had joined a territorial unit of the Royal Army Ordnance Corps in 1936 and was among those evacuated from Dunkirk in the retreat of May 1940 however his mother Joan Tarrant's profession is unknown. Reflecting on Chris Tarrant's personal life, he is a married guy. He was married to Sheila Roberton and had two children, Helen in 1977 and Jennifer in 1980. Their relationship was not better, so they got divorced in 1982. Tarrant met his second wife, Ingrid Dupre-Walsh when they both worked for TV-am. The couple married in 1991 and divorced in 2007. The couple previously lived with their two children, Sammy and Toby, in Esher, plus two children from Ingrid's previous marriage, Dexter and Fia, the latter a radio presenter with Heart. Tarrant's son Toby has followed in his father's footsteps as a radio DJ employed by Global Radio, hosting programs initially for Capital FM and now Radio X. His other daughter from Ingrid's previous marriage, named Fia Tarrant, also followed her father's footsteps, now currently presenting on Heart (radio network) weekdays from 10 pm-1 am, and is also employed by Global Radio. In a statement in September 2006, Tarrant said: "I am deeply sorry for the hurt I have caused to my loyal wife and wonderful children, all of whom I adore. On 13th May 2007, Tarrant was arrested on suspicion of assault at an Indian restaurant and released on police bail ads well, he was arrested on suspicion of assault at his home in Esher on 5th March 2009 but he was later released without charge. On 18th December 2017, Tarrant appeared in court charged with drink-driving. He returned to court on 18th January 2018 and received a 6,000 pounds fine and a 12-month driving ban.

Recently, Tarrant has slammed Kerry Katona, recalling how he met her once at an event in Marbella, Spain. "I do remember meeting Kerry. She was upsetting everybody,' he recalled. 'I think you can imagine. Oh gosh, a monster. 'She was just all over the place, we were trying to do charity stuff and she kept butting in, and eventually, I probably did say, "Why don't you go away?"
