An American actress, Dawn Elberta Wells was professionally known as Dawn Wells. She was well recognized for her role as Mary Ann Summers on the CBS sitcom "Gilligan's Island". She gained the title of Miss Nevada after competing in the Miss America pageant and made her TV debut in a 1961 episode of "The Everglades", playing the character Piney. She had also endeavored as a producer, author, teacher, motivational speaker, journalist, and spokesperson. Her over five decades-long careers in the world of glamour and entertainment saw Wells performing in various films, TV programs, and onstage productions with equal elan. She was also a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. But sadly, we lost her on 30th December 2020 at the age of 82. Death of Dawn Wells

Dawn Wells, who played the wholesome Mary Ann among a misfit band of shipwrecked castaways on the 1960s sitcom "Gilligan's Island", died on 30th December 2020 Wednesday of causes related to Covid-19, her publicist said. She was 82. Wells died peacefully at a living facility in Los Angeles, publicist Harlan Boll said. We are sorry for your loss.

Dawn Wells took birth on 18th October 1938 with the real name or full name of Dawn Elberta Wells in Reno, Nevada, U.S. She held an American nationality and American-white ethnicity. Similarly, she was from Christianity religion and her race was white. She used to happily celebrate her birthday on the 18th October of every year and she had celebrated her  82nd birthday though as her birthdate, her star sign was Libra. She was born to Joe Wesley and Evelyn Wells as her father owned a local Reno shipping company called "Wells Cargo" (not the trailer manufacturer). She attended Reno High School as well as attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, where she majored in chemistry. She transferred to the University of Washington in Seattle, where she graduated in 1960 with a degree in theater arts and design.

• Dawn Wells commenced her career by representing her state in the Miss America 1960 pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey as she was crowned Miss Nevada in 1959.
• She then made her debut on ABC's "The Roaring 20s" and the movie "The New Interns" as well as she was cast in episodes of such television series as "The Joey Bishop Show", "77 Sunset Strip", "Cheyenne", "Maverick", and "Bonanza", before she took the role of Mary Ann on "Gilligan's Island" where she reunion cartoon spin-off "Gilligan's Planet" and three reunion movies: "Rescue from Gilligan's Island", "The Castaways on Gilligan's Island", and "The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island". 
• Analogously, she had starred guest stars on "Wagon Train", "Tales of Wells Fargo", "87th Precinct", "Surfside 6", "Hawaiian Eye", Ripcord" and many others.
• As well, she had a one-woman show at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas in 1985 whereas she had also published "Mary Ann's Gilligan's Island Cookbook" in 1993 as well as released "What Would Mary Ann Do? A Guide to Life" in 2014 too which was launched to coincide with the 50th anniversary of "Gilligan's Island".
• Furthermore, she was the founder of the Idaho Film and Television Institute, a not-for-profit (501(c)(3)) educational organization with "a vision of education.
• She also appeared at the Denver Foundation's Christmas Wish Celebrity Auction, helping to raise funds for the disabled and disadvantaged in West Virginia in November 2009.
