Sahabzade Irfan Ali Khan, popularly known as Irrfan Khan or Irfan Khan was a veteran Indian actor. Known for his fine acting, he appeared in numerous hit Bollywood movies as well as several British and Hollywood movies. He made his breakthrough in the movie industry from the 2003 drama film, Haasil. He later in critically acclaimed and commercially successful movies such as Life in a Mero, Paan Singh Tomar, The Lunchbox, Piku, Talvar, and Hindi Medium among others. He has appeared in English movies such as Jurassic World, The Amazing Spider-Man, Life of Pi, and Inferno. He is one of the finest actors in Bollywood and has won numerous highly acclaimed accolades for his contribution to the entertainment industry. He received the Padma Shri in 2011. 

Irrfan Khan died due to a colon infection on 29 April 2020. He was previously diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumor in 2018.

Irrfan Khan was born on 7 January 1967. His birth name is Sahabzade Irfan Ali Khan. His birth place is in Jaipur, Rajasthan in India. He held Indian nationality. He was born to a Muslim family, Yaseen Ali Khan (father), and Saeeda Begum Khan (mother). He has 3 siblings, Salman Khan, Imran Khan, and Rukhsana Begum. His religion was Islam. Irrfan Khan was a married man. He was married to writer and fellow NSD graduate Sutapa Devendra Sikdar. The couple got married on 23 February 1995. They shared 2 children together, Babil and Ayan.  

How did Irrfan Khan Die?

Irrfan Khan was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, a neuroendocrine tumor in 2018. He was admitted to Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on 28 April 2020. The health officials had started receiving treatment for a colon infection. He died due to a colon infection at the age of 53 on 29 April 2020. He died around the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. His mother, Saeeda Begum Khan, had died just four days ago.
