Jan Oblak is a Slovenian professional football player. He plays for the Spanish club Atletico Madrid and captains the Slovenian national team. His playing position is a goalkeeper. He is frequently ranked as one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

He began his career with Olimpija Ljubljana, making his professional debut at age 16 on 17 May 2009 in the 2008-09 Slovenian Second League. In June 2010, at the age of 17, he signed for Portuguese club Benfica and was part of the team that won the domestic treble in the 2013-14 season. During his career at Benfica, he was loaned out to four different clubs: Beira-Mar, Olhanense, Uniao de Leiria, and Rio Ave. In July 2014, he moved to Atletico Madrid for a fee of €16 million, becoming La Liga's most expensive goalkeeper at the time. In 2015-16, he won the Ricardo Zamora Trophy for best goalkeeper, conceding an all-time record low of 18 goals. He won the award again in the following three seasons, and for the fifth time in 2021. With over 350 appearances for Atletico Madrid, he has won four trophies with the club: Supercopa de Espana (in 2014), UEFA Europa League (in 2017-18), UEFA Super Cup (in 2018), and La Liga (in 2020-21).

On the international level, he has represented Slovenia at various age levels. He has represented Slovenia at U15, U16, U20, U21, and the senior level. He made his senior international team debut for Slovenia on 11 September 2012 in the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. He has been named Slovenian Footballer of the Year on six occasions.
