Jason Witten turns back clock with TD catch
It’s been a rough start to the season for the University of Tennessee football team.
One legendary former Vols star had a huge turn-back-the-clock moment Sunday, though. Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten hauled in a 4-yard touchdown pass from Dak Prescott against the New York Giants on Sunday.
The AT&T Stadium crowd exploded when Witten — who shockingly announced his return to the Cowboys after retiring and spending last season as an analyst in the Monday Night Football booth — hauled in the pass from Prescott with 10 minutes, 19 seconds left in the second quarter. The 37-year-old Witten cemented his status as a Hall of Fame during his first stint with the Cowboys, collecting 12,448 yards and 68 touchdowns in 15 seasons.
Witten, also the former Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year winner, has been just as impressive off the field during his career, endearing himself to those in his hometown of Elizabethton, Tenn., his college town of Knoxville and the Dallas metroplex.
