He spent his childhood years growing up in Andover, Massachusetts.

Jay's brother died in 2002 at the age of 62 as a result of complications from cancer.

He also writes occasional "Motormouth" articles for The Sunday Times.

On 12th November 2022, Leno suffered "serious burns" to his face and hands when a vehicle at his Los Angeles garage burst into flames.

Leno owns approximately 286 vehicles (169 cars and 117 motorbikes).
