A Cuban American mixed martial artist competing in the UFC's welterweight division is named for Jorge Masvidal who is the current and inaugural UFC BMF Champions.   • On 30th April, his most high-profile kickboxing victory came in the main event of the Absolute Fighting Championships XII event against current UFC competitor and The Ultimate Fighter 5 contestant Joe Lauzon. 
  • Later, he was signed by Bellator and entered their lightweight tournament in April 2009 where he won his first fight via TKO in the first round. 
  • But he was defeated in the semi-finals by Toby Imada at Bellator 5.

  • On 16th March 2019, he faced Darren Till after a 16-month layoff where he went on to win the fight via knockout in the second round. The win also earned Masvidal his second Fight of the Night and third Performance of the Night bonus awards.
