Katie Couric is an American journalist, presenter, producer, and author who is well known to be the founder of the multimedia news and production company, Katie Couric Media. She has worked with top network channels such as NBC News, CBS News, and ABC News even has been a television host at all of the Big Three television networks in the United States.

Couric gained much popularity by becoming one of the few anchors who appeared on the U.S. Big Three.  As an author, she also has written books including the 2011 book, "The Best Advice I Ever Got: Lessons from Extraordinary Lives" which went on to become a New York Times bestseller. Katie Couric was born on January 7, 1957, in Arlington, Virginia, United States. Her birth name is Katherine Anne Couric. She is of American nationality and is from a mixed ethnic background while Capricon is her zodiac sign. 

Born as the daughter to a well-family to Elinor Tulie(mother) and John Martin Couric(father), Katie was raised in her hometown attending the Arlington Public Schools where she learned and gained invaluable experience interning at the radio station WAVA as a high school student. 

She was even a cheerleader at the time. Her mother was a Jewish part-time writer, while her father worked as a Public Relations Officer with ‘The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’ and the ‘United Press’ in Washington, D.C.

  • She later joined NBC News as Deputy Pentagon Correspondent in 1989. She even worked as a co-host of the programs, ‘Today’, ‘Sunday Today’ and ‘NBC News at Sunrise at the time. 
  • In 1991, she became permanent co-anchor of the NBC program, ‘Today’ continuing her work for the next 15 years.

Katie Couric is a married woman and has been married twice to date. Her first marriage was with John Paul "Jay" Monahan III, an attorney with whom she got married in 1989. The couple was together for 9 years until John died of colorectal cancer in 1998 at 42. They had two daughters together; Elinor Tully "Ellie" Monahan and Caroline.
