About Max Whitlock
British artistic gymnast, Max Whitlock is famous for being a five-time Olympic medallist, winning two golds and three bronzes, and an eight-time world medallist on the same apparatus with three gold and five silvers. He is also well recognized for becoming Britain's first-ever gold medallist in artistic gymnastics when he won both the men's floor and pommel horse exercises at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He currently plays in the club, South Essex whereas his head coach is Scott Hann.

Max made an international splash in 2010 by winning gold in the floor exercise and pommel horse at the European Junior Championships. He won a bronze medal with the 2012 British Olympic men's gymnastics team, the first British men's team to win an Olympic medal in 100 years. He was introduced to gymnastics by a friend from a swimming club when he was seven. Additionally, he was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2017 New Year Honours for services to gymnastics.
