About Paul Pierce

Paul Anthony Pierce famed as Paul Pierce is an American former basketball player who played in the position of Small forward. He is famous for playing nineteen seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) with the Boston Celtics. After his basketball career, he was seen as an analyst on ESPN's basketball programs "The Jump" and "NBA Countdown" which is his present job. His nickname "the Truth", was given to him by Shaquille O'Neal in March 2001.

Beginning his basketball career with high school, Paul was chosen by the Boston Celtics with the 10th overall pick in the 1998 NBA draft. He was named Eastern Conference Co-Player of the Month twice, for December and April in the 2001-2002 season. He was named to the 2009 NBA All-Star Game and for the first time to the All-NBA Second Team. During a game against the Milwaukee Bucks, he scored his 20,000th career point on a free throw, becoming the third player in Celtics history to reach that milestone solely in a Celtics uniform on 3rd November 2010. He played his 1,000th career game with the Celtics on March 9, 2012, against the Portland Trail Blazers. For the season 203-2014, Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets reached a deal to trade Pierce which was completed on 12th July 2013. Then on 17th July 2014, he signed a two-year, $11 million contract with the Washington Wizards for the 2014-2015 season and signed a three-year, $10 million contract with the Los Angeles Clippers for two seasons. He then retired from the team Boston Celtics on 18th August 2017. His jersey (no. 34) was raised to the rafters of TD Garden in a postgame ceremony following the Celtics-Cavaliers game, as he became the 23rd person in Celtics history to be honored. He is a finalist to be elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame this summer. Recently, ESPN and its NBA analyst Paul Pierce have parted ways in the wake of his wild Instagram Live that included pot smoking and scantily clad exotic dancers. It is not clear whether Pierce was smoking marijuana.

Paul Pierce was born to American-African parents on 13th October 1977 with the real name of Paul Anthony Pierce. He stepped his very first foot in Oakland, California, the USA. Later, he along with his parents moved to Inglewood where he spent his young age. He holds American citizenship and he came from the black race. Paul Pierce grabbed his educational qualification from Inglewood High School located in Inglewood, California. For further study, he attended the University of Kansas College in 1995 for three years. He was honored as one of the 35 Greatest McDonald's All-Americans in the year 2012. What's more, he averaged 27 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists per game during his senior year, and also, he went on to participate in the 1995 McDonald's All-American Game. During his college time, he won Most Valuable Player honors in both the Preseason NIT and the Big 12 Conference Tournament as a junior in the 1997-1998 season. He ranks as the fifth-leading scorer in Kansas history (1,786 points) and 11th on the all-time rebounds list (676). Leaving the University, he entered the 1998 NBA draft.
