Yeun first got interested in acting in his freshmen year at Kalamazoo College after he saw his college improve group called Monkapult.

He auditioned to join Monkapult in his freshmen year but due to his bad acting skills, was rejected.

While growing up, he played at the local church.

He studied psychology at Kalamazoo College in 2005.

He used to play a lot of sports including basketball, hockey, and football.
