Xavier Becerra is an American politician and lawyer. He is serving as the 33rd and current Attorney General of California since 2017. It was reported in December 2020 that President-elect Joe Biden nominated Becerra to be the US Secretary of Health and Human Services. Previously from 1993 to 2017, he was a member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Downtown Los Angeles in Congress. He is a member of the Democratic Party.
Xavier Becerra was born on 26 January 1958. His birth place is in Sacramento, California in the United States. He holds an American nationality. He was born to a father, Manuel Becerra, and a mother, Maria Becerra. He was born to working-class Mexican immigrants. He has 3 siblings (sisters). He grew up in a one-room apartment.
