Angelique Kerber was born on January 18, 1988, in Bremen, Germany. She is the daughter of Slawomir Kerber and Beata Kerber with sister Jessica Kerber. She grew up at Kial and started playing tennis at her age three, eventually joining the junior circuit. In 2012, Kerber moved to Puszczykowo, Poland where her maternal grandfather owns an indoor tennis facility.
