Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman, Bob Plager was famous for playing in the National Hockey League (NHL) for 14 seasons from 1964 until 1978. He was a fierce competitor known best for knocking opponents to the ice with his famous hip check.
Bob signed a professional contract with the New York Rangers in 1964 and he retired from on-ice action in 1978. Later, he took a job with the Blues front office. His jersey was retired on 2nd February 2017, the seventh for a Blues player. Sadly, we lost him on 24th March 2021.

Former St. Louis Blues defenseman Bob Plager was killed Wednesday in a car crash in St. Louis on 24th March 2021. He dies at 78. Police said he was alone in his vehicle when it collided with a vehicle carrying two women on Interstate 64 in St. Louis at about 1:30 p.m.
