Demi Moore reveals she was raped aged 15

Demi Moore has said she was raped at the age of 15 in her home, by a man who claimed to have paid her mother $500. The Hollywood star, 56, made the allegation during a candid interview on Good Morning America to discuss her memoir, Inside Out.

Speaking to Diane Sawyer, she said she came home to find the older man, who knew her mother, in her apartment. After he had raped her, Moore alleges he said her mother had sold her to him. In the book, she writes: “It was rape. And a devastating betrayal, revealed by the man’s cruel question: how does it feel to be whored by your mother for $500?”Moore’s mother was an alcoholic who, according to Moore, took her to bars when she was a teenager so that men would notice them. She died in 1998. Asked if she believed the man, she said: “I think, in my deep heart no. I don’t think it was a straightforward transaction. But she still did give him the access, and put me in harm’s way.”

Demi Moore was born on 11 November 1962 in Roswell, New Mexico. She holds an American nationality and belongs to the white ethnicity. Her birth name is Demi Gene Guynes with the birth sign of Scorpio and was born to her father Charles Harmon, Sr. who is an  Air Force airman and mother  Virginia King. She was raised by her stepfather Dan Guynes, a newspaper advertising salesman as her biological father left her mother after a two-month marriage before she was born.  Also, her mother never told her about her father until she found her mother and stepfather's marriage certificate at the age of 13. She often found her parents drunk and argued, until her stepfather Guynes committed suicide in October 1980 at age 37 by inhaling carbon monoxide from the exhaust of his car and her mother died of cancer on July 1998 at age 54. Besides, she also has said that "My dad was Dan Guynes. He raised me. There is a man who would be considered my biological father who I don't really have a relationship with." Moreover, Moore suffered from strabismus as a child and had two operations. Also, She had suffered from kidney dysfunction.
