Matt Gaetz is an American politician who is famous for serving as the U.S. representative for Florida's 1st congressional district since 2017. He was one of only two Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee to vote for the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement (MORE) Act in November 2019. 

As a lawyer, Matt previously worked at a law firm in Fort Walton Beach. Matt filed an ethics complaint against Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi after the 2020 State of the Union Address as well as he announced in February 2020 that he will no longer accept campaign contributions from federal PACs. In late February 2021, Gaetz and a dozen other Republican House members skipped votes and enlisted others to vote for them, citing the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. On 7th January 2021, following the attack on the Capitol, Gaetz falsely said there was "pretty compelling evidence from a facial recognition company showing that some of the people who breached the Capitol today were not Trump supporters. They were masquerading as Trump supporters, and in fact, were members of the violent terrorist group Antifa".

On 7th May 1982, Matt Gaetz opened his eyes for the first time with the real name or full name of Matthew Louis Gaetz II in Hollywood, Florida, U.S. However, he grew up near Fort Walton Beach. He is of American nationality and he belongs to an American-white ethnicity. Likewise, his religion is Christian and his race is white.
