Nicholas David Pope professionally known as Nick Pope is an English professional football player who plays for Premier League club Newcastle United and the England national team as a goalkeeper. He started his career with Ipswich Town’s youth team at the age of 10 and was released by the club at age 16. Following his release by Ipswich, he joined the non-league club Bury Town in 2008 and played until 2011. On 1 July 2011, he signed for League One club Charlton Athletic and went on to spend six seasons with the club. During his career at Charlton Athletic, he was loaned out to six different clubs: Harrow Borough, Welling United, Cambridge United, Aldershot Town, York City, and Bury. After spending six seasons at Charlton Athletic, on 19 July 2016, he joined newly-promoted Premier League club Burnley on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee. He made his Premier League debut for the club on 10 September 2017. At Burnley, he went on to play six seasons for the club where he made 155 appearances for the club and made 53 clean sheets in all the competitions. On 23 June 2022, Newcastle United confirmed signing Nick Pope from Burney for a fee thought to be in the region of £10 million.
On the international level, Pope has represented England at various age levels. He has represented England at the senior level. He made his senior international team debut for England on 7 June 2018.
