Ritsu Doan is a Japanese professional football player. He plays for Eredivisie club PSV Eindhoven and the Japan national team. His playing position is attacking midfielder or winger. Currently, he wears shirt number 25 for his current club. 

He started playing football for the youth team of Gamba Osaka in 2011 and began his career at the club. Coming through the youth system, he debuted against FC Seoul on 27 May 2015 in the 2015 AFC Champions League. In June 2017, he moved to Eredivisie club FC Groningen on loan with an option to purchase on a three-year contract. After his impressive performances on a loan spell, on 1 July 2018, he permanently signed for FC Groningen. On 30 August 2019, he joined PSV Eindhoven on a five-year contract for the transfer fee of €7.50 million. On 5 September 2020, he moved on loan to Bundesliga side Arminia Bielefeld for the 2020-21 season where he made 35 appearances and scored 5 goals in all the competitions.  

On the international level, Ritsu Doan has represented Japan at various age levels. He has represented Japan at U16, U19, U20, U23, and the senior level. He was part of the Japan U19 team that won the 2016 AFC U19 Championship in Bahrain. In May 2017, he was selected to Japan's national U20 team for the 2017 U20 World Cup. At this tournament, he played full-time in all four matches and scored three goals. On 30 August 2018, he received his first international call-up from the Japan national team for the 2018 Kirin Challenge Cup. He made his senior international team debut for Japan on 11 September 2018. He was part of Japan’s squad that finished as runners-up in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.
