John F. MacArthur is a United States Reformed evangelical Bible teacher, an American pastor and author of Christian teaching radio program named “Grace to You ”.He is a Reformed Baptist and a strong proponent of expository preaching. Early Life of John F. MacArthur
The son of Jack MacArthur and Irene Dockendorf John F. MacArthur was born on June 19, 1939, in Los Angeles, California United States. Before transferring to Los Angeles Pacific College he attended Bob Jones University. He obtained his Masters of Divinity from Biola University's Talbot Theological Seminary.
Career of John F. MacArthur
He served as an associate pastor at Calvary Bible Church and as a faculty representative for Talbot Theological Seminary. He became the third pastor at the nondenominational Grace Community Church.
His daily radio program, Grace to You which is now broadcast throughout much of the world, started as a ministry to provide audio cassettes of his sermons to listeners and then began to be broadcast in Baltimore. MacArthur became the president of The Master's University. He founded The Master's Seminary. After beginning in the pulpit of Grace Community, MacArthur completed one of his own life goals that of preaching through the entire New Testament. The MacArthur New Testament Commentary series was completed. He has written or edited more than 150 books. He has made his own MacArthur Study Bible
