An American actress, singer, Phylicia Rashad is well known for her role on the NBC sitcom "The Cosby Show" (1984-1992) as Clair Huxtable. She appeared in For Colored Girls in 2010, Steel Magnolias in 2012, and Creed in 2015. She made her TV debut in a 1976 episode of the series Delvecchio titled "Wax Job." Rashad is also a stage director too. Previously, she graduated from Howard University and would eventually return to teach there. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. She was initiated into the Alpha Chapter during her tenure at Howard University.
