An American actress, singer, Phylicia Rashad is well known for her role on the NBC sitcom "The Cosby Show" (1984-1992) as Clair Huxtable. She appeared in For Colored Girls in 2010, Steel Magnolias in 2012, and Creed in 2015. She made her TV debut in a 1976 episode of the series Delvecchio titled "Wax Job." Rashad is also a stage director too. Previously, she graduated from Howard University and would eventually return to teach there. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. She was initiated into the Alpha Chapter during her tenure at Howard University. Additionally, she has won several awards in her careers such as NAACP Image Awards, People's Choice Awards, Drama Desk Awards, Black Reel Awards, and many others. She became the first black actress to win the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play in 2004, which she won for her role in the revival of "A Raisin in the Sun". She has also starred in the films and series like Uncle Tom's Cabin, Frankie and Alice, A Fall from Grace, For Colored Girls (2010), Good Deeds (2012), and Creed II (2018). On 19th June 1948, Phylicia Rashad took birth in Houston, Texas, U.S. to her parents' mother, Vivian Ayers, and father, Andrew Arthur Allen. Though her father has passed away in 1984.   • Cosby asked Rashad to work on his animated television series "Little Bill", in which she voiced Bill's mother, Brenda, until the show's end in 2004.
