Kamal Haasan is an Indian actor, filmmaker, screenwriter, television presenter, playback singer, and politician. He has mainly worked in Tamil movies, but he has also done Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Kannada, and Bengali movies. Throughout the Indian film industry, Haasan's peers have appreciated his contributions to cinema, as well as the Tamil film industry, has acknowledged him as having a major impact on actors and directors. Kamal Haasan was born on November 7 1954 in Paramakudi, Tamil Nadu, India. His birth name is Parthasarathy Srinivasan, but his later father changed his name to Kamal Haasan. Haasan was born into a Tamil Iyengar Brahmin family to D.Srinivasan who was a lawyer and freedom fighter, and Rajalakshmi who was a housewife. He is the youngest child of his parents. He has two brothers named Charuhasan and Chandrahasan, who are also actors. and a sister Nalini Raghu, who is an Indian classical dancer.

- Kamal Haasan began his career as a child artist in the 1960 Tamil-language film Kalathur Kannamma, for which he received the President's, Gold Medal.
- His first screen debut was in a dancing scene in the 1970 movie Maanavan.
