He started his professional football career at the Japanese club Cerezo Osaka. In 2014, he joined the Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg and went on to spend four successful seasons at the club. At Salzburg, he won 5 Austrian Football Bundesliga titles and 4 Austrian Cup titles.
