Early Life and Family Background

Kirsty Gallacher was born on January 20, 1976, in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her father is Bernard Gallacher, a famous professional golfer and former Ryder Cup captain, and her mother is Lesley Gallacher.

When Kirsty was just 18 months old, her family moved to Virginia Water in England because her dad got a job at Wentworth Golf Club. She grew up on the Wentworth Estate with her younger brother Jamie and her sister Laura, who is now married to comedian and actor Russell Brand.

Kirsty went to Coworth Flexlands School and St George’s School in Ascot. Later, she studied journalism and marketing at the London College of Fashion. Her father’s career in sports inspired her interest in sports media. She is also related to professional golfer Stephen Gallacher, who is her cousin.
