Robinson Jose Cano Mercedes recognized as Robinson Cano is a Dominican-American professional baseball second baseman for the New York Mets of Major League Baseball (MLB). He is best at the position of bats in Left and throws in Right. He made his MLB debut with the New York Yankees on May 3, 2005, played for them through the 2013 season and was a member of their 2009 World Series winning team over the Philadelphia Phillies. He was offered in several trades by the Yankees while he was in the minor leagues. Robinson has represented the Dominican Republic in international play, including winning both the gold medal and Most Valuable Player Award (MVP) of the 2013 World Baseball Classic (WBC) tournament. He hit 12 home runs in the final round of the 2011 Home Run Derby to win the title. He was named MVP of the 2017 MLB All-Star Game after hitting the game-winning home run in the 10th inning of the game. After his 2018 season, he was traded to the Mets.
